Skin Care – Radiesse Dermal Filler
Radiesse® is a unique soft tissue or dermal filler because of its ability to build a structure below the skin with calcium-based microspheres and gel. This encourages natural collagen regeneration while acting as a dermal filler to reduce wrinkles and lines in the skin. Collagen gives healthy young skin flexibility, volume and strength. As your skin ages, natural collagen breaks down, and the natural elasticity and volume is lost, resulting in wrinkles, facial lines and skin laxity.
The product is slowly placed into the pre-designated and marked areas with a meticulous injection technique. Varying types of anesthetic are used, depending on the area being treated, to minimize any discomfort. Ice may also be applied to offer additional anesthesia and to minimize bruising. Radiesse injections are one of the only products which the FDA has approved to be combined with Lidocaine local anesthetic to reduce discomfort during the application.
Treated areas may swell and become red but you will be sent home with reusable ice packs to reduce these effects.
It is important to not have any facials, chemical peels, or waxing done to the treated areas for two weeks following Radiesse injections, as it takes two weeks for the product to settle.
