Laser Lipo
Laser Lipo like SlimLipo and SmartLipo are recent additions to the list of liposuction techniques. SlimLipo and SmartLipo both use laser technology to minimize risks and aid in rapid recovery from the procedure.
Laser Liposuction can be used on smaller, more sensitive areas that were not thought to be optimal for liposuction, like upper arms, knees, ankles, back and under arms, and under the chin. The main areas of the abdomen, waist, hips, buttocks, and thighs are still treatable, but for large volume liposuction, laser lipo may not be the best choice.
One of the advantages of laser lipo patients are quick to point out, is that the procedure uses smaller incisions which does speed the healing process. The incisions needed as entry points for the suction device, called a cannula, are often so small they don’t even require sutures to close them.
Another advantage is that the laser itself seals any broken blood vessels during it’s normal working process. This reduces bleeding and bruising in the area, again speeding the recovery process.
Finally, the heat from the laser encourages collagen regeneration and actually tightens the skin over the treatment area, rather than leaving behind loose, saggy skin. Collagen is a protein layer under the skin that serves as the superstructure of the skin. As we age, the collagen layer starts to deteriorate, which results in the formation of lines and wrinkles.
Laser Lipo, like SlimLipo and SmartLipo, has a rapid recovery time. The media has dubbed it “lunch-time lipo” due to its reputation that many people return to work after the procedure. There are often no stitches to remove. You will be healed and looking great in no time at all!
