Blepharoplasty – Double Eyelid Surgery
Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery is one of the most requested procedures, especially for people of Asian descent who do not an eyelid crease. These patients are interested in the creation of an eyelid crease, which is called double eyelid surgery. This procedure is requested for either medical or aesthetic reasons.
Actually in young patients, this procedure is often be performed without surgery at all! Sutures can be made inside the eyelid to create a new permanent crease, which must be executed carefully for the best results. If the removal of some extra skin or fat is needed, this can be performed with a column directed CO2 laser that can be precisely focused. The laser surgery rarely causing any bruising so you can return normal activities within a few days.
As we age the lower eyelids can be a problem due to bulging fat which makes your eyes look tired. If you do not need any skin removed from the lower eyelids a laser approach through the inside of the eyelid can be used. With no bruising, a complete recovery is expected in less than a week.
